400 Playable Champions For My Game!
My board game Lombard's Labyrinth comes with 10 playable champions, and the first expansion set, The Lost Isles, comes with 5 more. While waiting for art and other things related to production, I started coming up with more sets, champions, and Bosses to add to the game, all with fun new abilities, character concepts, and lore. At this point, I have a little over 400 champions, 100 new bosses, and many items, but nowhere near enough players to even worry about play testing th

Lombard's Labyrinth Old Board Designs
When I started to work on my board game Lombard's Labyrinth, I needed to make a playable version to play test it. The first version started off with me drawing all the tiles out by hand on a large poster board, and then I had to erase them all when the game ended. The second version was a hand-cut and glued version that was 2ft x 2ft, which couldn't fold up. This version I used for a few months. The OG board for Lombard's Labyrinth The third version is the first picture shown

Magic The Gathering Artist Who Drew These Fortnite Secret Lair Cards Also Drew My Board Game Box Art!
Lombard's Labyrinth Box Art with the artist's MTG cards A cool little story about my board game is that while looking for an artist to draw my cover art, I came across Kevin's Instagram account randomly and saw he worked on some League of Legends stuff (I love League of Legends). He even drew one of my favorite MTG cards. I knew I needed to ask if he was interested in drawing the cover for my board game. I waited weeks to message him because I was worried he would say no or c

Who is the Best Champion?
As my board game Lombard's Labyrinth grows with new champions and bosses, it has got me thinking. Who is the best champion out of the base 10 to play as? I thought about it for a while, and while each has its own set of stats and abilities, the true versatility of this Champion allows for just more starting options.

From the Developer's Desl: Real Artists Matter For My Board Game
The Original Lombard's Labyrinth 10 Champions I grew up playing Magic The Gathering and Pokémon, so when it came time to have art made for my board game, I knew I wanted to work with real artists. I wanted many to work on my game. Some people worried that using multiple artists might make the game feel less cohesive, but personally, I believe people gravitate toward different art styles. For me, when I pick a new commander in MTG, it’s often based on the artwork or even just

Kromatic games' First Board Game: Lombard's Labyrinth
OG version of Lombard's Labyrinth I started my board game years ago as a simple, fun project. I had a basic copy of the game that I would draw and then erase after each time I played. Eventually, it turned into the version you can see in the photo (the white board with all the green and orange pieces, all hand-cut by me). That version was used many times in play testing with my friends one summer; we probably played over 100 games that summer. Eventually, I was convinced by f
