My Board Game Boss Will Be In a Video Game!

About a year ago, I was looking for artists to create artwork for all the cards in my board game. I was still missing many Champions and all 10 Bosses; I spent two weeks following accounts and looking for freelance artists, and I think I ended up following over 700 accounts by the end of those weeks. I would message each account that matched the vision I had for certain bosses or champions and ask if they were available for work. Many of my messages were ignored or were out of my budget, but the ones who did reply or made exceptions to work with my budget would later be hired to create all the art in my board game (Lombards Labyrinth). I first found Laitshae on an Instagram reel showing off this upright wolf character. I'm a huge fan of League of Legends, so it reminded me of Warwick, and I instantly loved it and their art style.

However, when I reached out, they told me they don't do commissions and that they were working on their own video game. I asked if they would make an exception and if they were interested in making the art for my minotaur boss, and after seeing the concept, they agreed. When the artwork was finally done, we talked about their game. It seems like the type of game I would love. So I threw out the idea of doing a crossover between my board game and their game. I asked if they would be interested in using my boss in their game, as a little way to save them time, since they agreed to take time out from their project to help me. The coolest part was that they loved the design and the final artwork so much, they were hoping to put him in the game.

I was told there would be a special level and credit to Kromatic Games when you defeat him. Being able to work with so many talented artists is amazing, and I can't wait to battle Dyrius outside the Labyrinth in a totally different game. Opportunities like this are so fun for me, and I'm really happy to see Kromatic Games' first-ever collab in the making.
