Flameo
Flameo, the Torchbearer

What is Flameo?
Flameo is something special.
Flameo is a Pomlum — one of the rare elemental creatures shaped from the natural forces of the world. Pomlums are small, curious beings formed from earth, wind, flame, tide, and much more. No one knows where they truly come from, or how many of them wander the world. They do not speak, not in any language scholars know of, at least. Instead, Pomlums communicate through action — a shared glance, a careful step forward, a small gesture offered without hesitation.
Flameo is what most would call a fire Pomlum. It isn’t an official title, but it hardly needs an explanation. A soft warmth radiates from them, and their torch burns bright wherever they go. The flame never seems to waver — even when Flameo does.
Pomlums are rare on the continent of Sorva, even among its many strange and magical creatures. Flameo is rarer still, for they choose to travel alongside adventurers, guiding them through dungeons, forgotten ruins, and long-shadowed halls.
Flameo is kind. Incredibly kind.
They will always step forward first, lifting their torch to light the path for others. They check corners carefully. They pause at doorways. They make sure the room is safe before anyone else enters.
But Flameo does not do this out of bravery alone.
Flameo is afraid of the dark.
So Flameo keeps their torch lit at all times. Even in bright rooms. Even in daylight. Even when others say it isn’t necessary.
Because as long as the flame burns, the darkness stays back.
And as long as the darkness stays back, Flameo can keep being what they truly are:
A small, glowing light for everyone else.
